Java Backend Engineering Team Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Guide and cultivate the talents of your team members.

• Enhance and innovate new features on the software platform.

• Engage in agile ceremonies and methodologies.

• Oversee the activities of the software engineering team.

• Implement software engineering principles for design, development, maintenance, testing, and evaluation.

• Ensure that all developed software adheres to security standards and complies with data protection regulations.

• Clearly document work to facilitate future reference by others.

• Lead the team through various stages of the recruitment process, including technical assessments and interviews.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of backend engineering experience with a focus on JVM languages.

• At least 3 years of formal leadership experience managing a team of Java backend engineers, including the responsibility for conducting performance reviews.

• Experience with Microservices and AWS.

• Extensive knowledge of the Spring framework and various other Java backend tools and frameworks.

• Familiarity with Salesforce CRM is a plus.

• Proven experience in building software from the ground up.

• A strong desire to create scalable systems with a focus on quality.

• Must be based in South Africa.

• Excellent proficiency in English.
