
Japanese VRI/OPI Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
β’ Professionally respond to calls, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.
β’ Always be prepared to take notes during calls.
β’ Familiarize yourself with the specific vocabulary relevant to the industry in which you are interpreting (particularly healthcare and medical)βtraining will be provided.
β’ Accurately and completely convey all messages without adding, omitting, or substituting any information.
β’ Deliver exceptional customer service while interpreting.
β’ Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by providing precise and comprehensive interpretations of messages.
β’ Uphold standards of practice.
β’ Participate in internal professional training sessions.
β’ Demonstrate a willingness to obtain new professional certifications.
β’ Regularly communicate and report to your team leader.
β’ Adhere to dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.
β’ Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language "Japanese."
β’ A minimum of 1 year of telephone interpretation experience at a reputable interpretation company is advantageous but not mandatory.
β’ Good understanding of medical terminology is beneficial but not required.
β’ Familiarity with legal terminology is a plus.
β’ International certifications in the healthcare field are advantageous (such as PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).
β’ A high school diploma in your native language is required.
β’ Strong emotional intelligence and an appreciation for diverse cultures.
β’ Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills.
β’ Fully remote position with a defined schedule.
