IT Technical Specialist – Laboratory Diagnostics

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Oversee and implement projects aimed at deploying digital healthcare solutions.

• Collect requirements prior to project initiation.

• Set up physical or virtual servers along with Oracle databases.

• Identify optimal solutions utilizing available tools to create value through proposed initiatives.

• Perform testing, provide training, and follow up on usage.

• Offer technical support for Abbott systems related to digital healthcare solutions.

• Handle multiple tasks concurrently.

• Collaborate with various departments at Abbott, including Sales, Projects, Automation, Engineering, Consulting, and Logistics.

• Coordinate the implementation and support of projects with clients and HIS/LIS vendors.

• Work collaboratively within a team, mentoring others, and sharing knowledge among IT technical specialists.

• Provide 24/7 on-call technical support to customers in Brazil and Argentina, adhering to the agreed schedule.

• Cultivate a deep understanding of Abbott processes and lead by example.

• Comply with and advocate for Abbott’s Business Code of Conduct.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Analysis and Development, Biomedical Systems, or a related discipline.

• Proficiency in English and Spanish.

• Experience with Hospital Information Systems (HIS), Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), and middleware.

• Background in assembling and installing servers, as well as installing operating systems, especially Windows Server.

• Knowledge of Oracle databases, programming logic, and healthcare communication protocols (HL7, ASTM).

• Familiarity with laboratory processes.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
