IT Systems, Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Configure and secure Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Active Directory, Google Workspace, Google Cloud Identity, and associated business systems.

• Deploy and manage endpoint-management controls across various mobile device management and unified endpoint management platforms, such as Jamf and Microsoft Intune.

• Implement identity management, multifactor authentication, permissions, endpoint security, logging, vulnerability management, as well as patching, backup, and recovery controls.

• Provide support for Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, networks, firewalls, VPNs, DNS, and secure remote access solutions.

• Troubleshoot technical issues alongside customer IT teams, service providers, vendors, and engineers from Defense Unicorns.

• Test completed modifications and generate precise configuration records, diagrams, evidence, and runbooks.

• Complete assigned implementation tasks on time and escalate risks or blockers promptly.

• Assist in transforming repeatable tasks into checklists, scripts, and automation tools.

• Willingness to travel 10%–25% of the time.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in administering, securing, and troubleshooting business IT environments.

• Practical experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Active Directory, and Google Workspace.

• Experience in mobile device management or unified endpoint management across multiple platforms, including hands-on experience with Jamf and Microsoft Intune.

• Experience providing support for Windows and macOS endpoints; familiarity with iOS and Android is strongly preferred.

• Knowledge of networking, firewalls, identity management, logging, endpoint protection, vulnerability management, patching, and backups.

• Ability to troubleshoot systematically, document work accurately, and communicate effectively with customers and internal teams.

• Proven capability to deliver results in a remote, asynchronous setting.

• US citizenship with access to Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).

• Preferred: Experience with GCC High, Azure, Google Cloud Identity, Apple Business Manager, Android Enterprise, Microsoft Defender, or Microsoft Purview.

• Preferred: Experience in defense contracting or government, particularly with NIST SP 800-171 or NIST SP 800-53 controls.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) 2.0.

• Preferred: Experience with PowerShell, shell scripting, security monitoring, or workflow automation.

• Preferred: Relevant certifications in Microsoft, Google, Apple, cloud technologies, networking, or security.
