IT Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Oversee, secure, and continually enhance the Microsoft 365 and Azure ecosystem.

• Create and implement endpoint security protocols utilizing Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Defender, and Microsoft Entra ID.

• Manage and strengthen Windows clients while enforcing policies for identities, devices, access, and OIDC/SSO.

• Plan and automate recurring IT tasks using PowerShell alongside relevant Microsoft 365 and Azure services.

• Administer, monitor, and further improve the Windows Server infrastructure.

• Contribute to updates, patch management, backups, monitoring, and disaster recovery strategies.

• Manage and optimize software and cloud licensing, including inventory management and documentation.

• Develop and refine standardized deployment processes based on DevOps principles, including Infrastructure as Code.

• Address complex requests and incidents in 2nd- and 3rd-level support while executing structured troubleshooting.

• Produce technical documentation and security frameworks.

• Work collaboratively with internal teams and external service providers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Completed vocational training or a degree in IT, such as IT Specialist for System Integration, IT Systems Electronics Technician, or an equivalent qualification.

• Professional experience in administering Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, and Windows environments.

• Strong expertise in several of the following areas: Microsoft Intune and endpoint management; Microsoft Defender for Endpoint or Microsoft Defender XDR; Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, and Identity and Access Management; Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, or other Microsoft 365 services; Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS.

• Proficient in PowerShell with practical experience in automating administrative tasks.

• Understanding of contemporary deployment practices, DevOps, and CI/CD methodologies.

• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, ideally using Bicep, Terraform, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.

• Experience in 2nd- and 3rd-level support with a focus on structured troubleshooting.

• Independent, solution-focused, and detail-oriented work style.

• Excellent communication skills and a passion for teamwork.

• Proficient in German and has a good command of English.

• Advantageous: Experience with Microsoft Graph, REST APIs, or PowerShell modules for Azure and Microsoft 365.

• Advantageous: Familiarity with Git, Azure DevOps, GitHub, or similar version control systems.

• Advantageous: Experience in endpoint hardening, vulnerability management, or incident response.

• Advantageous: Knowledge of networking, virtualization, backup, and monitoring solutions.

• Advantageous: Experience in regulated sectors such as medical technology, diagnostics, or healthcare.
