IT Support Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Serve as the primary contact for IT-related inquiries and incidents through helpdesk, phone, or email.

• Identify and resolve common issues related to hardware, software, network, and system access.

• Configure, set up, and troubleshoot laptops, desktops, printers, and mobile devices.

• Provide support for Microsoft Office 365, VPN, antivirus software, and other company-standard applications.

• Conduct password resets, software installations, and user account assistance.

• Address basic network connectivity issues, including TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, and DHCP.

• Record and manage incidents and service requests using the IT ticketing system.

• Assess incidents based on severity and business impact and escalate complex issues as needed.

• Prepare hardware and software for new employees and assist with IT-related onboarding.

• Keep precise records of IT hardware and software inventory.

• Aid in system maintenance, software updates, security checks, and routine technical tasks.

• Support access controls, permissions, and fundamental information security processes.

• Ensure that IT support activities adhere to company security policies and GDPR regulations.

• Offer basic training and guidance to employees regarding IT systems, tools, and software.

• Maintain internal knowledge bases, FAQs, and technical support documentation.

• Recognize recurring technical issues and help implement long-term solutions.

• Foster effective relationships with employees and internal stakeholders.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 1 year of experience in IT Support, Technical Support, Helpdesk, or a comparable role.

• Prior experience delivering customer service or user support in a professional setting.

• Solid understanding of hardware, software, and basic networking principles.

• Basic knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.

• Familiarity with Active Directory, user account management, and password reset procedures.

• Experience with Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Knowledge of Google Workspace is advantageous.

• Prior experience with IT ticketing/helpdesk systems is preferred.

• Strong troubleshooting, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

• Capability to identify recurring technical challenges and proactively propose solutions.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

• Ability to manage multiple requests, prioritize tasks, and operate under deadlines.

• Capacity to build effective relationships with internal stakeholders.

• Strong resilience and adaptability in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with the broader IT team.

• Good understanding of information security and data protection principles.

• Proficiency in English is required.
