IT Project Manager, Facilities and Real Estate Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Oversee the entire lifecycle of IT project delivery, particularly for Real Estate and Facilities projects such as site construction, relocations, and upgrades.

• Gather and manage requirements from business stakeholders and Corporate IT.

• Create project Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and IT work packages.

• Develop and oversee project plans, timelines, budgets, risk management plans, and interdependencies.

• Act as the IT lead for office openings, consolidations, and closures.

• Collaborate with Real Estate on site design layouts to ensure compliance with IT infrastructure standards.

• Organize the deployment of networking, audiovisual, end-user computing, security systems, and IoT/smart building technologies.

• Prepare IT readiness requirements and documentation for Real Estate project approvals.

• Create cost estimates and preliminary IT estimates; evaluate low-voltage architectural plans.

• Coordinate site connectivity with IT infrastructure teams and telecom service providers.

• Serve as the primary liaison for stakeholders, Facilities teams, and external vendors.

• Oversee vendor deliverables, contracts, and their performance metrics.

• Provide leadership with regular updates on project status, risks, and escalation procedures.

• Manage project budgets, forecasts, financial tracking, KPIs, risks, compliance, documentation, audits, and governance assessments.

• Contribute to the development of deployment playbooks, lessons learned, process enhancements, and standardized tool utilization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.

• 8-10+ years of experience in IT project management, with a focus on delivering IT infrastructure solutions.

• Proven experience in managing IT projects related to Real Estate / Facilities, including office builds, relocations, or significant renovations.

• Familiarity with IT infrastructure domains such as networking, end-user computing, audiovisual systems, and security.

• In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies including Waterfall, Agile, or hybrid approaches.

• Experience in managing cross-functional programs that involve Facilities, Construction, and IT teams.

• Capable of managing budgets, vendors, and multiple simultaneous projects.

• Proficient with project management and portfolio tools like ServiceNow PPM, MS Project, Jira, or similar; familiarity with Primavera is advantageous.

• Strong skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.

• PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification, or in the process of obtaining it.

• Willingness to travel to various site locations as necessary.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer at the time of hire.

• Must be eligible or capable of obtaining access authorization for controlled technical information, including eligibility for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program and a Canadian Enhanced Reliability security clearance.

• Availability to work standard hours Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm ET or 9 am to 6 pm ET, with occasional after-hours or weekend commitments.
