This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Oversee and manage the Microsoft 365 platform, which includes Exchange, Entra ID, Teams, and Microsoft 365 Copilot.
• Utilize Power Automate, PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, Logic Apps, or other appropriate tools to automate repetitive IT service desk tasks.
• Create self-service options for access requests, group management, and common troubleshooting tasks.
• Track and report on the decrease in recurring tickets and the need for human intervention.
• Prepare the Microsoft 365 environment for Copilot through proper permissions management, remediation of oversharing, and sensitivity labeling.
• Develop agents and pilots for teams that address significant business use cases.
• Manage tenant configuration as code using version control with peer review processes.
• Safely test, deploy, and revert tenant changes as needed.
• Maintain reliable runbooks, comprehensive documentation, and a strategic technology roadmap.
• Operate Exchange Online and Entra ID, focusing on mail flow, connectors, transport rules, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, Conditional Access, MFA, passwordless implementations, SSO integrations, directory synchronization, and privileged access management.
• Provide Tier-3 escalation support and conduct root-cause analysis for Microsoft 365 issues.
• Engage in a shared on-call rotation and participate in occasional maintenance periods.
• Collaborate with security, compliance, service desk, IT, and business teams to enhance efficiency, mitigate risks, and reduce expenses.
• Approximately 3–5 years of experience administering a live Microsoft 365 tenant with actual users, including Exchange Online and Entra ID.
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Graph.
• Experience diagnosing authentication failures, mail delivery issues, and directory synchronization problems to their root causes.
• Interest or experience with Microsoft 365 Copilot, including hands-on administration, agent development, or extensive self-directed learning.
• Ability to produce clear technical documentation and plain-language explanations for colleagues without technical backgrounds.
• Strong skills in asynchronous communication and collaboration across functions.
• A service-oriented mindset when supporting peers.
• Capability to link technical tasks to business outcomes and prioritize effectively.
• A degree in a technical discipline is beneficial, though equivalent hands-on experience is equally valued; neither is mandatory.
