IT Field Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Set up and configure laptops along with other endpoint devices for users within the organization.

• Install operating systems, software applications, drivers, office productivity tools, and antivirus solutions.

• Configure network access, VPNs, firewalls, and security settings.

• Provide initial technical support for hardware, software, peripherals, and connectivity challenges.

• Troubleshoot issues related to laptop performance, operating systems, software, and network connectivity.

• Manage software upgrades, patches, and application troubleshooting requests.

• Keep track of inventories for laptops, peripherals, configurations, serial numbers, and software installations.

• Educate users on the proper usage and maintenance of laptops.

• Record and resolve user requests within the IT ticketing system.

• Configure encryption protocols, password policies, and implement security updates.

• Collaborate with IT personnel and departments for hardware and software deployments and upgrades.

• Address escalated issues and conduct detailed troubleshooting alongside the IT team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Required: High school diploma or equivalent.

• Preferred: Associate’s degree or IT-related certification.

• Demonstrated experience in an IT helpdesk, desktop support, or technical configuration position.

• Practical experience in installing laptop hardware and operating systems, including Windows and macOS.

• Solid understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, and peripheral devices.

• Familiarity with software troubleshooting and network connectivity challenges.

• Knowledge of security protocols, firewalls, and encryption technologies.

• Experience with mobile device management (MDM) tools is a plus.

• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.

• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.

• Willingness to travel frequently.

• Availability for after-hours urgent support may be required.
