This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the engineering team responsible for internal integrations, automation, and AI-driven workflows that support Core IT.
• Define the technical roadmap for the team while ensuring high velocity and throughput.
• Take ownership of orchestration tools, agentic workflows, and system connections to eliminate manual tasks across the company.
• Develop and sustain automation that supports service organization, identity, and other internal functions.
• Assess and implement automation and AI tools.
• Lead engineers based in the US and India, fostering team growth and capabilities.
• Align the technical direction, roadmap, metrics, and engineering strategy across various reporting lines.
• Establish overlapping hours, handoffs, and collaborative delivery across US and India time zones.
• Collaborate with ServiceOps and Business Operations leadership on automation and self-service initiatives.
• Convert operational requirements into technical specifications and prioritize automation use cases.
• Promote Samsara's cultural values.
• Over 8 years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, or automation engineering.
• More than 3 years of direct management experience with engineers.
• Proven experience managing a globally distributed engineering team across different time zones, including India.
• Practical experience with workflow automation and orchestration tools, such as Selenium or Workato.
• Experience in building integrations across enterprise systems.
• Demonstrated ability to set technical direction and maintain a shared roadmap.
• Proficient in Python and JavaScript.
• Capable of reading and reviewing pull requests as well as evaluating architectural decisions.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, TDD, and GitHub best practices.
• Experience in evaluating or deploying AI-driven or agentic automation tools in production environments.
• Proven track record in building integrations and automation that serve the platforms and workflows of other teams.
• Experience with ITSM and ticketing systems such as Zendesk and Jira.
• Proficient in Okta, Google Workspace, Atlassian Jira/Confluence, and Slack.
• Knowledgeable about corporate security and compliance programs, including SOX, FedRAMP, GDPR, or CCPA.
