IT Automation Specialist – Infra as Code

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Egypt.

📋 Description

• Design and execute Infrastructure as Code solutions utilizing Terraform and OpenTofu for provisioning both cloud and on-premises infrastructure.

• Create and sustain Ansible playbooks and roles for effective configuration management, application deployment, and system patching across diverse environments.

• Architect and enhance Ansible Tower/AWX implementations for large-scale enterprise automation, including RBAC, credential management, and workflow orchestration.

• Drive the adoption of agentic AI capabilities to streamline decision-making processes and minimize manual operational tasks.

• Establish best practices, standards, and frameworks for automation; conduct code reviews for infrastructure automation initiatives.

• Diagnose and resolve intricate automation challenges; generate technical documentation for knowledge transfer to other teams.

• Integrate automation solutions with CI/CD pipelines, monitoring systems, and ticketing platforms.

• Document technical architecture, runbooks, and operational protocols for all automation systems.

• Assess and recommend new automation tools and technologies that enhance efficiency and mitigate operational risks.

• Collaborate with Cloud, Infrastructure, and Security teams to embed automation throughout IT operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure and systems administration.

• Expert-level proficiency in Terraform and/or OpenTofu, with the capability to manage complex infrastructure states.

• Advanced knowledge of Ansible; experience in designing and maintaining Ansible Tower or AWX within production settings.

• Proficient in Python programming; capable of writing custom modules, plugins, and automation scripts.

• Comprehensive understanding of DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and best practices for infrastructure as code.

• Experience with public cloud platforms (Azure, GCP) and hybrid/on-premises infrastructure.

• Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with experience in resolving production incidents.

• Exceptional communication abilities; capable of conveying complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience.

• Preferred: hands-on experience implementing and managing agentic AI solutions for automation in IT operations.

• Preferred: experience with advanced features of Ansible Tower, including workflows, dynamic inventory, and LDAP/SAML integration.

• Preferred: familiarity with CMDB and ServiceNow integrations.

• Preferred: knowledge of GitOps methodologies and tools like ArgoCD and Flux.

• Preferred: certifications such as HashiCorp Certified Terraform Associate, Ansible Specialist, or equivalent cloud/infrastructure certifications.

• Preferred: contributions to open-source projects or demonstrated thought leadership within the infrastructure automation community.
