IT Automation Specialist – Infra as Code

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Create and execute Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions utilizing Terraform and OpenTofu for provisioning both cloud and on-premises infrastructure.

• Design and sustain Ansible playbooks and roles for managing configurations, deploying applications, and patching systems across diverse environments.

• Develop and enhance Ansible Tower/AWX implementations for enterprise-level automation, including role-based access control (RBAC), credential management, and workflow orchestration.

• Spearhead the integration of agentic AI capabilities to automate decision-making processes and minimize manual operational tasks.

• Establish best practices, standards, and frameworks for automation; perform code reviews for projects involving infrastructure automation.

• Diagnose and resolve intricate automation challenges; create technical documentation for knowledge transfer to other teams.

• Integrate automation solutions with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, monitoring systems, and ticketing platforms.

• Document technical architecture, runbooks, and operational procedures for all automation systems.

• Assess and propose new automation tools and technologies that enhance efficiency and mitigate operational risks.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Cloud, Infrastructure, Security) to embed automation throughout IT operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure and systems administration.

• Expertise in Terraform and/or OpenTofu; proven ability to manage complex infrastructure states.

• Advanced knowledge of Ansible; demonstrated experience in designing and maintaining Ansible Tower or AWX in production settings.

• Strong programming skills in Python; capability to write custom modules, plugins, and automation scripts.

• Thorough understanding of DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and best practices for infrastructure-as-code.

• Experience with public cloud platforms (Azure, GCP) and hybrid/on-premises infrastructures.

• Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows.

• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a proven track record of resolving production incidents.

• Strong communication abilities; capable of translating complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience.

• Practical experience in implementing and managing agentic AI solutions for automating IT operations.

• Experience with advanced features of Ansible Tower (workflows, dynamic inventory, LDAP/SAML integration).

• Familiarity with configuration management databases (CMDB) and integrations with ServiceNow.

• Knowledge of GitOps methodologies and tools (ArgoCD, Flux).

• Relevant certifications such as HashiCorp Certified Terraform Associate, Ansible Specialist, or equivalent cloud/infrastructure certifications.

• Contributions to open-source projects or demonstrated thought leadership within the infrastructure automation community.
