This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Take ownership of and manage essential business systems, such as identity/SSO, endpoint management, Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, and company-wide SaaS platforms.
• Design, implement, and sustain systems and infrastructure that support a fully remote workforce.
• Oversee cloud-based directory services, VPN, and remote device management.
• Address and resolve complex helpdesk and end-user issues.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior IT team members.
• Oversee endpoint protection, conduct access reviews, enforce MFA/SSO, manage patches, and monitor security alerts.
• Manage and supervise AWS, Azure, or GCP infrastructure, including backups, uptime monitoring, and cost management.
• Lead or participate in IT projects, including tool migrations, onboarding/offboarding automation, new-hire hardware programs, and vendor assessments.
• Develop and maintain automation and scripting using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar technologies.
• Keep documentation and runbooks for systems, processes, and incident responses up to date.
• Ensure adherence to internal IT policies and assist with external audits, such as SOC 2.
• Collaborate with People, Security, and Engineering teams on technology requirements across the company.
• 3–5+ years of experience in IT engineering, systems administration, or a related infrastructure/support role.
• Experience in supporting a remote or hybrid workforce.
• Practical experience managing identity and SaaS platforms such as Okta, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Jamf, or Intune.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, and firewalls.
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with scripting or automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar languages.
• Knowledge of IT security principles, including access control, endpoint protection, vulnerability management, and patch management.
• Experience with compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 is advantageous.
• Capability to work independently and communicate proactively in a fully remote, asynchronous setting across various time zones.
• Strong customer service skills and the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical colleagues.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft/Google admin certifications, or AWS/Azure fundamentals are beneficial.
• Must currently reside in San Francisco or Boston.
