This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Take charge of and manage essential business systems, including identity/SSO, endpoint management, Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, and company-wide SaaS platforms.
• Design, implement, and sustain systems and infrastructure that support a fully remote workforce.
• Oversee cloud-based directory services, VPN, and the management of remote devices.
• Act as an escalation point for complex helpdesk and end-user issues.
• Offer guidance and mentorship to junior IT personnel.
• Oversee IT security essentials, including endpoint protection, access reviews, MFA/SSO enforcement, patch management, and responses to security alerts.
• Administer and monitor AWS, Azure, or GCP infrastructure that supports internal IT systems.
• Manage backups, monitor uptime, and ensure basic cloud cost efficiency.
• Lead or participate in IT projects, including tool migrations, onboarding/offboarding automation, new-hire hardware programs, and vendor assessments.
• Develop and maintain automation and scripting using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar languages.
• Keep documentation and runbooks updated for systems, processes, and incident responses.
• Ensure adherence to internal IT policies while supporting external audits, such as SOC 2.
• Collaborate with People, Security, and Engineering teams to address company-wide technology needs.
• 3–5+ years of experience in IT engineering, systems administration, or a related infrastructure/support role.
• Experience in supporting a remote or hybrid workforce.
• Practical experience in administering identity and SaaS platforms, such as Okta, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Jamf, or Intune.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, and firewalls.
• Experience in troubleshooting connectivity issues for remote employees.
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Understanding of cloud security best practices.
• Experience in scripting or automation with PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar.
• Knowledge of IT security fundamentals, including access control, endpoint protection, vulnerability management, and patch management.
• Experience with compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 is advantageous.
• Ability to work independently and communicate proactively in a fully remote, asynchronous environment across different time zones.
• Strong customer-service orientation and capability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical colleagues.
• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft/Google admin certifications, or AWS/Azure fundamentals are beneficial.
