This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.
• Take ownership of and manage essential business systems, including identity/SSO, endpoint management, Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, and company-wide SaaS platforms.
• Design, implement, and sustain systems and infrastructure that support a fully remote workforce.
• Oversee cloud-based directory services, VPN, and remote device management.
• Act as an escalation point for intricate helpdesk and end-user challenges.
• Offer guidance and mentorship to junior IT personnel.
• Manage key IT security practices, encompassing endpoint protection, access reviews, MFA/SSO enforcement, patch management, and security alert responses.
• Administer and monitor AWS, Azure, or GCP infrastructure that supports internal IT systems.
• Oversee backups, uptime monitoring, and basic management of cloud costs.
• Lead or participate in IT projects such as tool migrations, onboarding/offboarding automation, new-hire hardware programs, and vendor assessments.
• Develop and maintain automation and scripting in PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar languages.
• Keep documentation and runbooks updated for systems, processes, and incident responses.
• Ensure adherence to internal IT policies and assist with external audits like SOC 2.
• Collaborate with People, Security, and Engineering teams to address company-wide technology requirements.
• 3–5+ years of experience in IT engineering, systems administration, or a related infrastructure/support position.
• Experience in supporting a remote or hybrid workforce.
• Practical experience administering identity and SaaS platforms such as Okta, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Jamf, or Intune.
• Strong foundational knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, and firewalls.
• Proficient understanding of AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Familiarity with cloud security best practices.
• Experience in scripting or automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar tools.
• Knowledge of access control, endpoint protection, vulnerability management, and patch management.
• Experience with compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a fully remote, asynchronous environment across different time zones.
• Strong customer service focus and the ability to convey technical concepts clearly to non-technical colleagues.
• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft/Google admin certifications, or AWS/Azure fundamentals are advantageous.
• Must currently reside in Boston or the San Francisco Bay Area.
