This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania, +1 more state.
• Accurately enter prescription data in accordance with company policies, IPU standards, and regulatory guidelines.
• Timely and precise updates of patient records.
• Utilize pharmacy systems and Microsoft applications, including Docuware, Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, Zetafax, and Infinity.
• Review and process faxed medication orders, confirming and clarifying details with hospices as necessary.
• Maintain detailed call logs for all interactions with clients, prescribers, and hospices.
• Stay informed about brand and generic drug names, formulary guidelines, and IPU medication profiling standards.
• Achieve IPU goals while ensuring profile accuracy, call quality, and compliance with operational standards.
• Assist in troubleshooting the Automated Dispensing System and follow after-hours protocols, including customer service, E3 support, Vitas E3 support, and urgent PCO processing.
• Aid local pharmacies in adjudicating claims for urgent medications and escalate immediate requests as needed.
• Support compliance initiatives as well as ADS reporting, tracking, and trending activities.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address prescription-related challenges and enhance IPU processes.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• CPhT certification is preferred.
• Pharmacy Technicians in Pennsylvania must register with the PA Board of Pharmacy or obtain registration before the internal deadline.
• Pharmacy Technicians in Tennessee must register with the TN Board of Pharmacy.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in pharmacy technician data entry (two years preferred).
• Strong knowledge of brand and generic drug names.
• Familiarity with drug formularies is essential.
• Capability to work independently and accurately in a fast-paced setting.
• Ability to understand documents received via fax.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Skill in managing multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
• Aptitude for effectively overseeing workflow in remote locations.
• Accurate and efficient typing/data entry skills are required.
• Proficient in pharmacy systems for prescription data entry, as well as Windows-based applications and the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Self-motivated with a robust work ethic and professional integrity.
• High-speed DSL or cable internet connection is necessary for a home office setup.
• A dedicated, interruption-free workspace is required to protect member PHI/HIPAA information.
• Ability to sit, stand, stoop, bend, and walk intermittently throughout the shift.
• Capacity to sit or stand for seven (7) to ten (10) hours during a shift, with extended hours as needed.
• Finger dexterity to operate office machinery.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
• Visual acuity for fine print, close vision, color vision, and focus adjustments.
• Ability to hear normal sounds is necessary.
• A valid state pharmacy license is required.
• Remote work-from-home position.
