IP Network Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Serbia.

📋 Description

• Design and implement network and security systems, including firewalls and web filtering solutions.

• Create and deploy networking infrastructure, encompassing LAN, WAN, routing protocols, failover mechanisms, IPSEC, and SSL VPNs.

• Execute technical operations on various IP network components across multiple networks.

• Ensure the availability and performance of critical business networks.

• Establish and enforce protocols for network security control systems, including firewalls and virtual private networks.

• Provide advanced support and troubleshooting for security and network infrastructure.

• Develop and maintain comprehensive network and security documentation.

• Foster relationships with integrators and vendors for upgrades, installations, downtime planning, and the exploration of new features and innovative solutions.

• Assess, test, and select enterprise networking and security hardware and solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience with networking and TCP/IP protocols (routing & switching, IP/MPLS, BGP, OSPF, IPv6) - mandatory.

• In-depth knowledge and experience with IP network elements, including routers, switches, and firewalls from various vendors (Juniper, Fortinet, & Cisco) - mandatory.

• Proven experience in network design and implementation - mandatory.

• Strong IP network troubleshooting abilities with the capacity to collaborate with customers and internal teams to resolve complex technical issues - mandatory.

• A collaborative team player with a strong ability to learn independently and manage multiple tasks - required.

• Proficiency in English - necessary.

• Experience in Linux/Unix: network configuration, network debugging, and installation of different Linux distributions.

• Must be knowledgeable about common network security threats and best practices for mitigation.

• Familiarity with AWS and other public cloud vendors + virtual environments (VMWARE/KVM) - a plus.

• Understanding of core cellular network architecture - a plus.

• Experience with script development (Python, etc.) - a plus.

• JNCIP, CCNP, and Security certifications - advantageous.
