This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee designated shared mailboxes and associated docket requests.
• Process docket requests promptly in accordance with firm policies and procedures utilizing the firm's IP Business docketing software.
• Independently manage docketing for specified assignment groups across various offices and/or shared docketing mailboxes.
• Examine documents to accurately identify and docket all deadlines.
• Review filings with the USPTO and foreign entities, confirming accuracy through domestic and international agency websites as needed.
• Remove completed deadlines from the docket.
• Verify items that have been docketed and de-docketed, addressing any discrepancies.
• Ensure the accuracy of timekeepers assigned to specific matters.
• Create, review, and distribute precise matter reports.
• Respond to inquiries from timekeepers and staff regarding docketed dates and the rules and regulations of foreign and domestic agencies.
• Work collaboratively with the IP Docket Manager to enhance docketing best practices, policies, and procedures.
• Manage abandoned and transferred matters and support the onboarding of new portfolios.
• Assist the Docket Team with special projects as required.
• Stay updated on changes, procedures, and regulations within US and foreign filing entities.
• Report to the Senior IP Docket Manager and provide assistance to IP Docket Managers as directed.
• A 2-year degree or Paralegal Certificate is required.
• A 4-year degree in a related field is preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in IP docketing is necessary.
• Proficiency in using IP docketing software, including PattsyWave, is required.
• Strong understanding of the patent and trademark prosecution process and IP business workflows.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Adobe products, and conducting internet research.
• Ability to prepare, export, edit, filter, sort, search, and reformat extensive spreadsheets in Excel.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and resourcefulness are essential.
• Capability to adapt to changes and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
