Investment Banking Associate, Current MBA Student

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct and evaluate research related to the company, industry, and competitors to support business development and transaction execution.

• Create financial analyses and valuations utilizing public comparables, precedent transactions, and discounted cash flow methodologies.

• Assist in the development of pitch materials, information memoranda, lists of buyers and acquisition targets, and content for data rooms.

• Evaluate strategic alignment and distill research findings into succinct recommendations for senior team members.

• Aid in the preparation of outreach, tracking of coverage, and internal reporting for private equity and strategic acquirer relationships.

• Facilitate the coordination of analyst research, verify accuracy of work, and support the timely completion of project assignments.

• Collaborate with senior team members and analysts on designated projects.

• Generate precise and valuable work efficiently by employing approved AI tools alongside financial expertise and professional judgment.

• Acquire hands-on experience in M&A research, financial analysis, and advisory services.

⛳️ Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an MBA program with a strong academic track record.

• Previous professional experience showcasing analytical judgment, accountability for deliverables, and reliable execution.

• Experience in finance, consulting, accounting, corporate development, or operational roles is advantageous.

• Genuine interest in investment banking, M&A, private equity, or corporate finance.

• Fundamental knowledge of accounting and valuation principles.

• Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.

• Strong writing abilities and effective communication skills.

• Capability to work autonomously, adhere to deadlines, respond promptly, and consistently contribute within a remote team environment.

• Ability to commit approximately 10–15 hours each week during the academic year.

• Practical understanding of AI tools and the skill to apply them responsibly to research and analytical tasks.

• Competence in structuring AI-related tasks, providing useful context, refining prompts and outputs, and explaining the verification process of resultant work.

• Proficiency in verifying facts, sources, calculations, and assumptions; identifying unsupported or misleading outputs; and knowing when independent analysis or human review is necessary.

• Utilize only company-approved AI tools and adhere to confidentiality and data-handling protocols.

• Do not input client, deal, personal, or proprietary information into an AI system without proper authorization.
