Accountant, Financial Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Oversee ongoing financial accounting for a designated client portfolio.

• Record business transactions and maintain accurate accounting records.

• Assist clients in making informed business decisions by generating analyses and reports.

• Prepare and submit VAT advance returns and EC Sales Lists to tax authorities by the required deadlines.

• Monitor compliance with deadlines and specific requirements, addressing inquiries independently or collaboratively.

• Address discrepancies and reconcile accounts receivable and payable ledgers.

• Maintain current and relevant accounts receivable aging and outstanding-items lists.

• Collaborate with the year-end accounts team to prepare annual financial statements.

• Aid in account reconciliations, closing entries, and the organization of documentation.

• Compile analyses and documentation for tax audit purposes.

• Support communication with tax authorities.

• Utilize DATEV solutions and modern digital processes.

• Assist clients in digitizing their accounting workflows and implementing appropriate digital solutions.

• Act as a primary contact for clients regarding accounting inquiries.

• Interact with clients via phone, video, and written correspondence.

• Collaborate closely with colleagues in financial accounting, year-end accounts, and payroll.

• Share knowledge and experience within the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Completed commercial training, preferably with a focus on accounting or financial accounting; qualification as a tax clerk or equivalent is desirable.

• Proficiency in DATEV or similar accounting software.

• Strong interest in digital workflows.

• Ideally, experience with Unternehmen online or comparable solutions.

• Solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping fundamentals.

• Familiarity with typical accounting transactions in small and medium-sized enterprises.

• Confident use of charts of accounts, outstanding-items lists, and financial analyses.

• Ability to manage deadlines and tasks for multiple clients effectively.
