Investment Accounting Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +45 more states.

📋 Description

• Execute and oversee intricate investment accounting reconciliations.

• Drive the resolution of aged or significant reconciling items in collaboration with Investment Operations, Treasury, and external banking partners.

• Evaluate reconciliation challenges and compile findings for senior team members.

• Assist in month-end and quarter-end closing activities.

• Extract data and create both standard and custom reports.

• Analyze outcomes, pinpoint variances and trends, and draft corresponding explanations.

• Improve reporting deliverables and aid in enhancing data visualization.

• Carry out internal control activities and maintain associated documentation.

• Engage in control remediation initiatives and identify or escalate control risks.

• Address auditor and reviewer inquiries by providing relevant documentation.

• Collaborate with Finance, Investments, and internal stakeholders.

• Take part in cross-functional projects.

• Review processes and implement approved enhancements to reporting, reconciliations, controls, automation, and overall process effectiveness.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Accounting/Finance or equivalent relevant work experience is required.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or auditing.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).

• Proven leadership qualities in project or team environments (non-supervisory).

• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in complex, judgement-based data entry and reconciliation tasks.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities for moderately complex issues.

• Ability to exercise professional judgment and discern when escalation is necessary.

• Excellent organizational skills to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

• Capacity to work independently while effectively collaborating within a team.

• Proficient written and verbal communication skills.

• Preferred: Experience with PAM, Bloomberg, Power Query, SQL/Query skills, Power BI, Alteryx.
