Investigation Specialist I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Perform investigations concerning discrimination cases throughout the State of Florida

• Accurately and thoroughly gather and document information via interviews and/or correspondence with relevant parties

• Conduct research and compile facts related to assigned complaints

• Draft investigative reports within mandated timeframes

• Provide testimony and appear before Commission panels, in civil court proceedings, and at administrative hearings concerning investigative findings and recommendations

• Undertake impartial fact-finding and assess evidence

• Create detailed investigative reports along with legally sound determinations and recommendations

• Objectively evaluate allegations and supporting documentation

• Understanding of fundamental investigation techniques, rules of evidence, court procedures, and requirements

• Proficient in applying logic and reasoning

• Skilled in employing active listening techniques

• Capability to conduct fact-finding interviews and gather statements

• Ability to utilize deductive reasoning

• Competence in analyzing information and assessing its validity

• Capability to produce accurate investigation reports and deliver comprehensive verbal presentations

• Commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality

• Ability to make autonomous decisions

• Proficient in effective communication both verbally and in writing

• Ability to build and sustain productive working relationships with others

• Minimum of five years of experience in legal or paralegal work, investigative roles, human relations, human resources, regulatory inspections, social work, personnel, education, counseling, affirmative action (AA), equal employment opportunity (EEO), or juvenile/adult criminal justice system work

• A bachelor’s degree along with one year of relevant experience as described

• Successful completion of a level two background screening, including fingerprinting, as a condition of employment

• Male applicants born on or after October 1, 1962, must be registered with the Selective Service System or possess a Letter of Registration Exemption, where applicable
