Inventory Solutions Specialist – VMI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Contribute to annual sales and profitability goals by conducting inventory audits, replenishing stock, and providing customer training for inventory management programs.

• Oversee project management and coordination of inventory projects between internal teams and external clients.

• Foster business growth within the territory by engaging both new and existing customers.

• Act as the primary point of contact for inventory-managed solutions.

• Conduct inventory audits, source and order products, and manage projects related to new inventory solutions.

• Manage and facilitate the disposition of inventory at customer locations.

• Minimize risks associated with excess stock, dead stock, and discontinued items.

• Audit and replenish inventory to sustain optimal stock levels.

• Address customer concerns regarding inventory adjustments and discrepancies.

• Ensure adherence to established internal control procedures.

• Support the implementation and setup of new inventory-managed solutions at customer locations.

• Develop inventory solutions, receive products, and organize and label finished goods.

• Collaborate with cross-functional sales teams as the subject matter expert on inventory solutions.

• Provide training for new hires, vendors, customers, and various functional areas.

• Present market conditions and concerns to customers and leadership.

• Resolve missing or incomplete information, as well as inconsistencies or anomalies in complex research/data.

• Offer general guidance or training to junior-level support or professional staff.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in inventory management, including cycle counts, audits, and stock reconciliation.

• Background in retail, distribution centers, warehousing, or supply chain operations.

• Strong experience in project coordination and customer-facing roles.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

• Capacity to work independently in a field-based role while managing multiple priorities and customer locations.

• Reliable transportation and readiness to travel locally for inventory counts, audits, and customer visits.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Typically 2-5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 2-4 years with a Master's degree.

• Certification may be required in specific areas.

• Willingness to travel regularly via personal vehicle within the assigned region.

• Physical capability to perform walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting, and maneuvering materials or equipment weighing over 50 pounds.
