
Intern – Oncology Medical Affairs

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Perform literature reviews and synthesize clinical evidence.
• Assist in the creation of scientific materials, presentations, and educational resources for both internal and external audiences.
• Support the operations of Medical Affairs and the gathering of insights.
• Monitor activities at scientific congresses, assess competitive intelligence, and gather customer feedback.
• Identify emerging trends pertinent to oncology diagnostics and precision medicine.
• Collaborate with teams in Medical Affairs, Commercial, Research, and Market Access.
• Provide assistance for ongoing initiatives and special projects.
• Gain exposure to the processes of diagnostic development and implementation.
• Contribute to projects that further the organization's objectives.
• Engage in enterprise-wide learning experiences, including leadership sessions, training, mentoring, and professional development opportunities.
• Current enrollment in a Bachelor's, Master's, PharmD, PhD, or MD program with a concentration in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Public Health, Genetics, Pharmacy, or Medicine.
• 3-6 months of previous internship, research, clinical, or laboratory experience.
• Interest in oncology, molecular diagnostics, precision medicine, or Medical Affairs.
• Professional demeanor, punctuality, accountability, and appropriate behavior in a corporate healthcare setting.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Initiative, intellectual curiosity, and a readiness to learn new scientific concepts, technologies, and business processes.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team under general supervision.
• Clear and professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities; capacity to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately manage sensitive scientific and business information.
• Positive attitude, adaptability, and dedication to continuous learning and improvement.
• Strong written and verbal skills for summarizing and conveying scientific and medical information.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment while also completing independent projects.
• Preferred: 2 years of undergraduate coursework completed prior to the start of the internship.
• Preferred: 1 year of experience in reviewing scientific literature, conducting research, or analyzing data in an academic or laboratory context.
• Preferred: 1 year of experience with scientific publications, poster presentations, or medical communications.
• Preferred candidates are rising juniors and seniors (graduating between December 2027 and June 2029) currently enrolled in a relevant degree program.
• This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship at this time or in the future.
• Paid 11-week internship.
