This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
• Create communication materials such as blogs and social media posts focused on health topics
• Generate content for a webpage that showcases the UN Foundation Polio Press Fellowship
• Monitor the performance metrics of the UN Foundation’s global health content
• Assist in the creation and distribution of the Unite for Health newsletter
• Support and coordinate communications activities related to significant global health events and observance days, including the UN General Assembly
• Help manage and develop photography, video, and social media resources that depict polio and malaria eradication efforts
• Download and categorize images and videos
• Assist in the production and editing of videos for social media platforms
• Contribute to the planning of content development that highlights best practices for polio and malaria eradication while advancing advocacy objectives
• Collaborate with Global Health, Public Affairs, and teams involved in health-related campaigns and alliances
• Perform additional duties as needed
• Must be currently enrolled in a degree program or be a graduate of an accredited college or university
• Understanding of the current global health agenda and key UN or multilateral organizations
• Skills and experience in communications and public relations
• Experience in managing email newsletters, including familiarity with Mailchimp
• Knowledge of web design and content management systems, particularly WordPress
• Proficiency in video editing software, including Adobe Premiere Pro
• Experience in graphic design using Adobe Creative Suite and Canva
• Familiarity with media and social media tracking and analytics
• Capability to write engaging content suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to adhere to attendance and punctuality policies
• Must possess a personal laptop and have access to the Internet
• Availability to work 20 hours per week on a set schedule
• Strong written communication skills and the ability to produce clear, concise, and audience-appropriate materials
• Ability to complete assigned tasks, meet deadlines, and communicate promptly regarding any changes in timelines or priorities
• Capability to follow established processes and maintain clear, accurate documentation
• Interest in the mission of the UN Foundation, UN, and/or multilateral organizations
• Ability to approach global issues with curiosity, respect, and cultural sensitivity
• Proficiency in Spanish is preferred
