This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design, create, and implement AI-driven applications utilizing large language models and enterprise data systems.
• Develop effective AI solutions that enhance healthcare treatment, payment processes, and operational efficiency.
• Construct the architecture for AI agents, encompassing context layers, data retrieval systems, and governance safeguards.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, business stakeholders, research and development teams, product management, and strategic analysts.
• Convey technology-related updates and requirements to other departments and contribute to presentations for senior management.
• Provide business units with trustworthy intelligence, validated technological options, and insights into enterprise and industry trends.
• Coordinate specific tasks, assist with daily operations, and aid in the delivery of technology solutions.
• Support academic research teams, practicums, internships, and vendor proofs of concept.
• Assist with vendor evaluations and collaborations.
• Serve as a liaison with academic institutions, professional organizations, and research groups.
• Assist in Academic Corporate Engagement initiatives to cultivate research and educational talent in health technology.
• Fulfill responsibilities associated with the internship program, special projects, and other assigned tasks.
• Currently pursuing or have recently completed an advanced degree in healthcare, technology, or a related field (e.g., Biomedical Informatics, Computer Science), with a preference for a PhD.
• Demonstrated interest or experience in AI, healthcare technology, or informatics research.
• Strong foundational knowledge in generative AI model development, architectures, and vector databases.
• Hands-on experience with Machine Learning and Deep Learning models.
• Practical experience with cloud services (AWS/Azure), large datasets, and constructing data pipelines for ML solutions.
• Fundamentals of SQL; comfortable writing queries against structured data.
• Exposure to LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic) and familiarity with at least one orchestration framework (LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar).
• Basic understanding of Git; comfortable with branching and code review within a team workflow.
• Experience in building or designing semantic layers, knowledge graphs, or context retrieval systems (RAG pipelines).
• Understanding of embedding models, chunking strategies, and retrieval optimization.
• Ability to evaluate data quality, duplication, and freshness.
• Experience in fetching and ingesting data from live external sources, including APIs and web sources, into structured pipelines.
• Comfortable designing schemas and storage layers, including vector storage or semantic indexing patterns.
• Capable of building and testing AI components such as embeddings, retrieval logic, and prompts.
• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Must have a dedicated, secure work area.
• Must provide high-speed internet access/connectivity and maintain office setup.
• Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Must be available to start immediately, commit to a 12-week internship, and work 40 hours per week.
