Interface Development Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Idaho, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Manage a small interface development team directly, overseeing hiring, performance evaluations, career progression, and daily technical guidance.

• Take ownership of the design, development, and support for HL7 v2.x and FHIR-based integrations, including SMART on FHIR application authorization workflows.

• Integrate AHS, Praxis Health, and Interpath Laboratory systems with EMRs, clearinghouses, laboratory instruments, and external partners.

• Spearhead the modernization of interface tools and processes to minimize integration turnaround times.

• Advocate for AI-assisted development practices in mapping, validation, documentation, and testing, while ensuring human oversight for PHI-related tasks.

• Collaborate with the Software Development Manager, clinical operations, and business stakeholders to prioritize interface development tasks.

• Set and uphold data quality, security, and compliance standards in alignment with HIPAA regulations.

• Conduct computer operations, occasional errands, and tasks requiring prolonged periods of sitting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in .NET/C# development.

• At least 2 years in roles such as team lead, tech lead, or in a people-management position with direct reports.

• Hands-on experience with HL7 v2.x messaging and clinical data interchange.

• Direct experience with FHIR and SMART on FHIR, including application launch and authorization processes like OAuth2/UDAP and CDS Hooks.

• Proven experience in delivering software solutions within healthcare or other regulated sectors.

• Proficient in utilizing AI-assisted development tools like Claude and GitHub Copilot in day-to-day tasks.

• Preferred: hands-on experience with InterSystems IRIS for Health.

• Valued experience with other engines or middleware such as Mirth Connect or Rhapsody, EMR/EHR integration, and business intelligence/reporting tools like SSRS and Power BI.
