Intelligent Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Evaluate approved requirements and convert them into automation tasks.

• Create, develop, configure, and test automations utilizing the enterprise RPA platform, reusable components, custom code, and sanctioned AI.

• Design intelligent automation solutions that integrate AI agents and AI-enabled services, ensuring guardrails, validation, exception handling, and human-in-the-loop controls.

• Connect automation solutions with REST and SOAP APIs, relational databases, enterprise applications, web applications, files, queues, and other system interfaces.

• Build and maintain auxiliary scripts and utilities using Python, PowerShell, C#, or JavaScript as necessary.

• Establish logging, monitoring, retry logic, exception handling, audit capabilities, configuration management, and secure credential management.

• Create unit and integration tests, assist in user acceptance testing, rectify defects, and provide testing evidence and delivered functionality.

• Adhere to software development lifecycle, change management, source control, peer review, cybersecurity, and release management processes across development, testing, and production environments.

• Aid in deployment and production operations, investigate failures, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement corrective measures.

• Engage in code reviews and contribute reusable patterns, development standards, and engineering best practices.

• Recognize opportunities to simplify, optimize, and modernize existing automations.

• Implement software engineering best practices, including version control, CI/CD, testing, and documentation.

• Collaborate with CIO and business stakeholders to deliver secure, supportable, and scalable solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field, along with 4+ years of experience; additional years of relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

• Proven professional experience in developing production automation or software solutions using an enterprise RPA or workflow automation platform.

• Familiarity with at least one general-purpose scripting or programming language such as Python, PowerShell, C#, Java, or JavaScript.

• Experience in integrating software or automation solutions with REST APIs, web services, databases, and enterprise applications.

• Working knowledge of SQL and relational database principles, including querying, data validation, and troubleshooting data interactions.

• Experience in developing solutions that engage with web and desktop user interfaces.

• Understanding of software engineering practices, including modular design, source control, code review, testing, debugging, documentation, and controlled deployment.

• Experience in implementing operational controls such as error handling, logging, and monitoring.

• Ability to interpret requirements, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and deliver maintainable solutions within established technical and security parameters.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with technical teams, analysts, application owners, and business stakeholders.

• US Citizenship is a requirement.

• Preferred: hands-on experience with Automation Anywhere, UiPath, Microsoft Power Automate, or a comparable enterprise RPA platform.

• Preferred: experience in designing or integrating AI agents, large language model services, agentic workflows, or other AI-enabled automation capabilities.

• Preferred: knowledge of API authentication and enterprise integration patterns, including OAuth, service accounts, JSON, and XML.

• Preferred: experience with Oracle or other enterprise database technologies.

• Preferred: experience supporting automation platforms across development, testing/QA, and production environments.

• Preferred: relevant RPA, cloud, AI, software engineering, or automation platform certifications.
