Intellectual Property Law Specialist – Trademark & Copyright

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Analyze work products that involve intellectual property rights and associated legal challenges.

• Determine whether legal conclusions are valid, complete, and sufficiently substantiated.

• Recognize erroneous legal principles, unsupported assumptions, and significant omissions.

• Examine the application of relevant IP concepts in practical commercial and legal contexts.

• Review documents related to trademark protection, usage, registration, and enforcement.

• Evaluate legal reasoning associated with distinctiveness, likelihood of confusion, and brand safeguarding.

• Assess work products concerning copyright ownership, protection, licensing, and infringement.

• Review analyses related to authorship, rights assignment, permitted use, and similar matters.

• Analyze legal assessments concerning ownership, licensing, commercialization, and enforcement of IP rights.

• Identify potential infringement and rights-clearance challenges.

• Evaluate the contractual or commercial consequences of intellectual property agreements.

• Review legal memoranda, reports, spreadsheets, and presentations for accuracy and thoroughness.

• Analyze executive or stakeholder presentations concerning intellectual property issues.

• Assess assigned outputs against specific quality criteria relevant to the domain.

• Deliver clear, structured written feedback outlining identified strengths and weaknesses.

• Consistently apply evaluation criteria across various intellectual property work products.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of pertinent professional experience in intellectual property law, trademark law, copyright law, IP advisory, or a related field.

• Strong practical knowledge of trademark and copyright law.

• Experience in reviewing intellectual property rights, protection strategies, licensing agreements, or infringement matters.

• Ability to identify significant legal gaps, unsupported conclusions, and deficiencies in IP analysis.

• Experience in preparing or reviewing professional legal documents and advisory content.

• Highly skilled in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.

• Advanced expertise in PowerPoint / Google Slides.

• Strong spreadsheet and analytical capabilities.

• Native or professional proficiency in English.

• Exceptional written communication skills and the ability to provide accurate, structured legal feedback.

• Strong attention to detail in legal, analytical, and presentation aspects.

• H1-B and STEM OPT support is not available for this position.
