This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design, develop, and sustain middleware services, integration workflows, and transformation logic.
• Support event-driven architectures, encompassing queues, pub/sub messaging, and asynchronous data pipelines.
• Execute system-to-system orchestration utilizing integration tools, middleware, and workflow engines.
• Create secure and dependable transformations among various data formats, schemas, and payload structures.
• Integrate applications through APIs, message brokers, and cloud-native integration services.
• Diagnose middleware issues, message delivery failures, and integration performance challenges.
• Generate mapping specifications, metadata models, and integration documentation.
• Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies, secure coding standards, and Zero Trust data principles.
• Assist with integration testing, message validation, and workflow troubleshooting.
• Maintain integration diagrams, sequence flows, and system interaction documentation.
• Engage in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams.
• Must possess an active Top Secret clearance, verified by a Tier 5 background investigation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 6 years of experience in integration engineering, middleware development, or backend systems engineering.
• Proven experience in building and supporting event-driven or message-based integration solutions.
• Expertise in data transformations, mapping logic, and integration pipelines.
• Proficient in troubleshooting middleware or system-to-system communication challenges.
• Experience in supporting enterprise, federal, or DoD environments.
• Strong knowledge of message queues, pub/sub systems, and event-driven patterns.
• Familiarity with middleware technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, AWS SNS/SQS, and MQ-based systems.
• Understanding of REST APIs, integration layers, and service-to-service communication.
• Knowledge of data transformation tools, schema mapping, and workflow engines.
• Comprehension of secure coding practices and DoD cybersecurity standards.
• CompTIA Security+ certification is required.
• Ability to design scalable, fault-tolerant integration workflows.
• Strong documentation skills for mapping specifications and integration diagrams.
