Integration, API, Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, document, and sustain RESTful APIs, services, interfaces, connectors, and integration components utilizing customer-approved technologies.

• Analyze source and target systems, data models, interface specifications, dependencies, and requirements for error handling.

• Implement secure data exchange, transformation, validation, orchestration, and event-driven integration methodologies.

• Create reusable integration services that facilitate evidence collection, assessment workflows, analytics, policy enforcement, and decision support.

• Work closely with security engineers on authentication, authorization, secrets management, encryption, logging, and secure coding practices.

• Partner with data and analytics engineers to establish schemas, mappings, data quality checks, lineage, and operational data specifications.

• Produce automated unit and integration tests, interface documentation, ADRs, runbooks, README content, and release notes.

• Support a federal client as part of a contingent position contingent on contract acquisition.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.

• Over 8 years of experience in the field.

• Proven software engineering experience in developing APIs, system interfaces, data integrations, or reusable services within enterprise environments.

• Familiarity with structured data formats, API security, automated testing, source control, CI/CD, and technical documentation.

• Capability to resolve intricate cross-system integration and data flow challenges.

• Eligibility to obtain a 6c Public Trust.

• U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.

• Preferred: An active Secret clearance.

• Preferred: Experience with REST/JSON APIs and integration frameworks.

• Preferred: Proficiency in Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar programming languages.

• Preferred: Knowledge of AWS integration/data services.

• Preferred: Familiarity with event-driven or message-based architectures.

• Preferred: Experience with SQL and data modeling.

• Preferred: Knowledge of GitLab CI/CD.

• Preferred: Skills in API testing and observability.
