Integrated Absence Claims Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee a portfolio of Short-Term Disability claims and related leaves.

• Conduct initial assessments and ongoing discussions with claimants.

• Acquire and evaluate medical documentation.

• Make prompt and ethically sound decisions regarding claims.

• Engage with claimants, employers, and healthcare professionals via phone and email.

• Collect information related to Short-Term Disability claims, Family Medical Leaves, and relevant state benefits.

• Collaborate with case managers, nurse case managers, and consulting physicians.

• Analyze intricate medical records and utilize tools and resources to determine approval durations and future action strategies.

• Execute precise financial calculations in line with company and state regulations.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.

• 1-2 years of experience in claims processing, leaves management, or customer service.

• Strong written and oral communication abilities.

• Exceptional organizational skills with the capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Experience in managing disability and/or absence claims is preferred.

• Proficient mathematical skills for payment computations (preferred but not required).

• Must reside in eligible locations/regions within the United States as specified for this role.
