Intake Specialist – Insurance Verification

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Evaluate medical records, clinical documentation, and payer guidelines to assess patient eligibility, qualification status, and compliance before service delivery.

• Engage with patients regarding financial obligations, collect payments when necessary, and accurately document all interactions.

• Reach out to patients when documentation fails to meet payer requirements, providing updates and alternative options to ensure timely care.

• Collaborate with referral sources, physicians, and clinical teams to secure complete and compliant documentation.

• Utilize in-depth knowledge of payer requirements to guarantee that services are rendered appropriately and in compliance.

• Maintain precise and timely documentation of patient information and communications utilizing electronic systems.

• Enter referrals within designated timeframes while adhering to productivity and quality benchmarks.

• Work with leadership to ensure the correct inventory and services are chosen and scheduled.

• Collaborate with sales, insurance verification, and internal support teams to streamline the referral and intake process.

• Navigate various EMR and online systems to obtain and manage documentation.

• Ensure that the appropriate shipping and delivery methods are selected in line with company policies.

• Respond to incoming calls promptly and offer professional assistance to patients and referral sources.

• Participate in on-call rotation during non-business hours as per company policy.

• Uphold team operations and quality standards by adhering to company policies and procedures.

• Perform additional related duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of one (1) year of relevant work experience is required.

• High School Diploma or an Associate’s degree in a relevant field such as Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience is mandatory.

• While experience in management, administrative roles, clerical work, insurance, billing, claims, call center, or customer service is preferred, it is not mandatory.

• Background experience within a healthcare organization, pharmacy, HME, medical supply, or Medicare-certified environment is advantageous but not required.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities with a strong attention to detail.

• Capability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficient in computer skills; knowledge of Microsoft Office and healthcare systems is a plus.

• Comfort in learning new technologies and navigating various systems.

• Ability to work independently while adhering to established procedures and directives.

• A background check conducted by the company is mandatory for all positions.

• A Motor Vehicle Record Check conducted by the company is required for all driving roles.

• Clinical roles necessitate valid licensure/certification, where applicable.

• Florida applicants may need to undergo background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.

• California applicants for applicable on-site HMDR facility positions must obtain a California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Exemptee License and provide proof of required training or disclose intent to obtain.
