Intake Coordinator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Evaluate and authorize standard referrals and pre-certifications for Blue Cross HMO.

• Initiate pre-review assessments for intricate referrals and pre-certifications.

• Forward complex cases and possible denials to the Clinical Services Department.

• Provide administrative support through data entry and handling inbound/outbound calls.

• Record referrals and pre-certifications in accordance with application protocols.

• Uphold the confidentiality of healthcare information.

• Accurately enter referrals and pre-certifications utilizing ICD-10 and CPT coding.

• Review referral and pre-certification authorizations in a precise and timely manner.

• Assist physician offices and providers with inquiries regarding referrals and pre-certifications.

• Collaborate with Provider Relations and Claims personnel to address discrepancies.

• Support nursing staff with internal referral documentation.

• Comply with audit protocols.

• Carry out other assigned responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in a healthcare environment.

• Solid understanding of HMO systems.

• Familiarity with basic Excel functionalities.

• Proficient with PDF Converter and/or Adobe Pro.

• Knowledge of medical coding, encompassing CPT and ICD-9.

• Highly organized and oriented towards tasks.

• Excellent time management abilities.

• Capability to work independently.

• Commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality of healthcare information.

• Proficiency in accurately utilizing ICD-10 and CPT coding.

• Employees are required to have their own internet connection.

• Minimum internet speed of 100 Mbps for downloads and 10 Mbps for uploads is required.

• Employees must be reachable during designated working hours.

• Disclosure of any secondary employment is necessary.
