Intake Agent

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Evaluate and verify prescriptions for accuracy, coverage criteria, and necessary documentation.

• Engage in patient outreach to validate insurance benefits, clarify coverage specifics, and gather patient financial obligations while adhering to compliance protocols.

• Direct prescriptions to the suitable dispensing partner based on payer coverage, benefit design, and internal allocation guidelines.

• Take initiative to follow up with healthcare provider offices when documentation or essential clinical information is absent.

• Liaise with patients, provider offices, and dispensing partners to address intake challenges and expedite shipping timelines.

• Contribute to the creation and execution of intake Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), workflows, quality controls, and escalation processes.

• Maintain adherence to HIPAA regulations, payer guidelines, and internal data security policies.

• Offer insights to management regarding daily intake operations and procedures for scalability.

• Collaborate across various departments including Revenue Cycle, Market Access, Sales, Customer Support, and Operations to consistently deliver outstanding intake performance and enhance patient experience.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in Durable Medical Equipment (DME), medical device intake, medical billing intake, or healthcare operations as a team leader, with a proven track record of increased responsibilities in previous positions.

• Familiarity with insurance verification processes and medical benefit workflows.

• Prior experience with the Parachute Health Platform or similar ePrescribing systems.

• Background in conducting patient benefit investigations and collecting patient financial responsibilities.

• Experience in direct communication with healthcare provider offices and patients.

• Capability to interpret prescriptions, clinical documents, and payer requirements effectively.

• Excellent organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail.

• Experience in developing or enhancing operational workflows and SOPs.

• Comfortable operating in a dynamic, fast-paced, high-growth environment.

• Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
