📋 Description

• The Insurance Specialist is tasked with the review and resolution of outstanding insurance balances on hospital or physician patient accounts.

• This role requires flexibility in learning and understanding complex hospital systems, along with strong analytical skills to assess appropriate next steps for resolving aged account receivables.

• The Insurance Specialist is accountable for meeting cash recovery targets and ensuring that assigned hospital receivables are managed in accordance with company, client, and federal regulations.

• Effectively manages assigned insurance receivables to meet business line expectations.

• Achieves productivity standards as established by the business line.

• Conducts timely follow-ups on assigned accounts to prevent potential cash loss.

• Ensures that insurance accounts are resolved within 90 days of assignment.

• Demonstrates the ability to prioritize tasks with some supervision to meet specified goals.

• Conducts account research and directs accounts through the appropriate client workflows.

• Capable of understanding, navigating, and performing research on accounts within client host systems.

• Possesses a strong understanding of patient accounting systems, facilitating a smooth transition and learning of new systems required by the business line.

• Accurately documents actions taken and next steps for account resolution in the patient accounting system.

• Exhibits strong communication skills to convey complex account information effectively.

• Maintains high-quality account management in accordance with client standards.


⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare receivables environment.

• High School Diploma required.

• Exceptional oral and written communication skills, basic computer proficiency, and familiarity with commonly used patient accounting software.

• Strong data management abilities, attention to detail and accuracy, coupled with effective problem-solving skills.

• Capability to communicate effectively with patients, hospitals, insurance companies, and Xtend Employees.

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

• Must possess the ability to concentrate for extended periods.

• Proficient numeracy skills and above-average knowledge of administrative procedures.
