This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +3 more states.
• Collect precise patient demographic and insurance details during inpatient and outpatient registration.
• Disseminate relevant information to all departments.
• Oversee physician-ordered diagnostic tests for medical necessity in accordance with government regulations.
• Confirm patient insurance coverage and benefits, documenting the information in the AS400 system.
• Inform the Supervisor about self-pay patients and notify the UR Department regarding any insurance coverage issues.
• Ensure that pre-certifications and authorizations are secured by physician offices when necessary.
• Alert the relevant departments if required pre-certifications or authorizations are not acquired.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned in line with departmental standards.
• Must be available to work from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM on weekdays.
• Familiarity with patient demographics and insurance information processes is essential.
• Capability to verify insurance coverage and benefits is required.
• Proficiency in documenting information in the AS400 system is necessary.
• Understanding of medical necessity criteria according to government regulations is important.
• Ability to manage pre-certifications and authorizations is required.
