Insurance Collection Specialist, FT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Proactively follow up on all assigned accounts by utilizing A/R reports and conducting account maintenance activities.

• Ensure the prompt collection of outstanding balances.

• Leverage available resources to achieve effective claims resolution.

• Apply payer guidelines to manage denials effectively.

• Oversee appeals at various levels to enhance recovery initiatives.

• Review medical record documentation to pinpoint necessary information for reversing insurance denials.

• Identify resources for drug information, as well as terms and definitions related to medical necessity.

• Gain an understanding of FDA Label components.

• Utilize compendia resources to bolster medical necessity appeals.

• Support the training of new collection specialists.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma, Certificate, GED, Training, or Experience.

• Preferred completion of an accredited Certified Coding Specialist program.

• Background in billing, collections, and appeals.

• Proficient in MS Word and Excel.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.

• Familiarity with medical terminology, explanation of benefits, and insurance verification processes.

• Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT-4, and modifiers.

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
