Insurance Collection Specialist – Business Office

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Conduct timely follow-ups for all assigned accounts by utilizing A/R reports and performing account maintenance activities.

• Ensure the prompt collection of all outstanding balances.

• Leverage available resources to achieve effective claims resolution.

• Implement payer guidelines for efficient denial management.

• Navigate various levels within the appeals process to maximize recovery efforts.

• Review medical record documentation and identify necessary information to challenge insurance denials.

• Recognize resources related to drug information and definitions of medical necessity.

• Comprehend the components of the FDA Label.

• Utilize compendia resources to aid in medical necessity appeals.

• Assist in training new collection specialists.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma, Certificate, GED, Training, or Experience.

• Completion of an accredited Certified Coding Specialist program is preferred.

• Experience in billing, collections, and appeals is essential.

• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel is required.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary.

• Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving abilities.

• Knowledge of medical terminology, explanation of benefits, and insurance verification applications is essential.

• Familiarity with ICD-10, CPT-4, and modifiers is necessary.

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required.
