Insurance Collection Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Promptly follow up on all designated accounts through A/R reports and account maintenance tasks.

• Ensure the swift collection of all overdue balances.

• Leverage available resources to achieve effective claims resolution.

• Implement payer guidelines for efficient denial management.

• Comprehend and apply ICD-10, CPT-4, and relevant modifiers.

• Navigate various levels of the appeals process to enhance recovery efforts.

• Analyze medical record documentation and identify necessary documentation to overturn insurance denials.

• Identify resources for drug information as well as medical necessity terms and definitions.

• Grasp the components of the FDA Label.

• Utilize compendia resources to assist in medical necessity appeals.

• Support in training new collection specialists.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma, certification, GED, training, or experience.

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

• Experience in billing, collections, and appeals processes.

• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.

• Knowledge of medical terminology, explanation of benefits, and applications for insurance verification.

• Familiarity with ICD-10, CPT-4, and associated modifiers.

• Completion of an accredited Certified Coding Specialist program is preferred.
