Insurance Collection Specialist 2

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Proactively follow up on all assigned accounts by utilizing A/R reports and account maintenance tasks to guarantee prompt collection of all outstanding amounts.

• Leverage all available resources to facilitate effective claims resolution.

• Implement payer guidelines for efficient denial management using ICD-10, CPT-4, and related modifiers.

• Navigate various levels of the appeals process to enhance recovery efforts.

• Examine medical record documentation and identify the necessary paperwork to overturn denials from insurance companies.

• Identify resources for drug information and understand medical necessity terms and definitions.

• Comprehend the components of the FDA Label.

• Utilize compendia resources to support medical necessity appeals.

• Contribute to the training of new collection specialists.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma, Certification, GED, Training, or Experience required.

• Background in billing, collections, and appeals is essential.

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is necessary.

• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel is required.

• Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal), attention to detail, and strong problem-solving abilities are a must.

• Familiarity with medical terminology, explanation of benefits, and insurance verification applications is important.

• Understanding of ICD-10, CPT-4, and modifiers is required.

• Completion of an accredited Certified Coding Specialist program is preferred.
