Insurance Authorization Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Confirm patient eligibility and benefits.

• Interpret and comprehend clinical notes and/or patient records.

• Generate authorizations when necessary.

• Manage authorization, insurance billing, or related departmental responsibilities.

• Resolve issues through to completion.

• Address individual patient needs considering physical, psycho-social, educational, safety, and other relevant criteria.

• Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal) and strong interpersonal abilities.

• Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time management capabilities.

• Must be detail-oriented and capable of following through on issues until resolved.

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

• At least two years of experience in an authorization department, insurance billing, or a comparable area.

• Effective interpersonal and management skills.

• Understanding of and compliance with HIPAA regulations.

• Knowledge and skills required to cater to individual needs based on physical, psycho-social, educational, safety, and other relevant criteria for each patient.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

• Proficient written and verbal communication abilities.

• Competent computer skills.

• Capability to work in a seated position for extended periods.

• Ability to concentrate on and read a computer screen for long durations.

• Flexibility to manage a workload that may fluctuate and expand over time.

• Experience with Cerner in initiating authorizations.
