Crop Insurance Adjuster

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Assist the Multi-Peril Crop Insurance, Private Products, and Named Peril claims unit.

• Establish and nurture professional relationships with Area Claim Supervisors, policyholders, agents, and fellow adjusters.

• Record and convey loss data to assess potential damages in accordance with FCIC, NCIS, and company protocols.

• Conduct field inspections, interpret maps and aerial images, measure fields, and assess storage bins.

• Employ company software and monitor company communications on a daily basis.

• Adhere to FCIS, state, and company rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

• Complete initial and ongoing training and certifications as mandated by FCIC and state laws.

• Clarify adjusting processes and findings to policyholders and agents.

• Investigate crop damage, conduct fact-finding, document information, and evaluate potential indemnities.

• Provide training to field claims staff on claims processes, best practices, and compliance standards.

• Acquire knowledge of new crops as required.

• Travel up to 50%, mainly within a two-hour driving radius from the assigned home office.

• Participate in occasional out-of-town training sessions and meetings.

⛳️ Requirements

• CAPP certification is required.

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

• Applicable State license is necessary.

• High school diploma or equivalent, or a relevant combination of education and experience.

• Preferred: 2 years of experience managing crop insurance claims.

• Preferred: 2 years of experience as a crop insurance adjuster.

• Basic mathematical skills are essential.

• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

• Capability to fulfill documentation requirements.

• Analytical thinking, investigative skills, and problem-solving abilities are needed.

• Self-motivated and efficient work ethic.

• Ability to operate in an office environment as well as outdoors in a farming setting.

• Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

• Familiarity with crop insurance regulations, policies, procedures, and best practices.

• Ability to work under pressure and adhere to tight deadlines.

• Initiative and capacity to work with minimal supervision.

• Excellent time management and prioritization skills.

• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. occasionally.

• Ability to walk through agricultural fields for distances of up to 3 miles.

• Ability to climb agricultural storage bins up to 75 feet and conduct work at significant heights.

• Capacity to work in confined areas and extreme weather conditions.

• Ability to utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

• Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, holidays, and as required.
