Instructional Designer, Learning Experience

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design and creation of comprehensive learning solutions for intricate, organization-wide projects.

• Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, subject matter experts, team leaders, and stakeholders to pinpoint knowledge and performance deficiencies.

• Define and organize content, set learning goals, and suggest learning strategies based on adult learning theories and best practices in instructional design.

• Create learning solutions that promote the adoption of new and improved technologies, business processes, and workflows.

• Enhance instructional design procedures, templates, standards, and operational methods.

• Manage learning deliverables from the discovery and analysis phase through design, development, launch, and evaluation.

• Develop project plans, timelines, and success metrics.

• Communicate recommendations, progress, risks, and decisions effectively.

• Lead discussions with stakeholders to validate requirements, address differing viewpoints, and guide decisions.

• Create resources that support wider learning and development initiatives in collaboration with the Employee Programs team.

• Assess learning effectiveness using feedback from learners, input from stakeholders, adoption metrics, and available data.

• Enhance learning strategies and resources to boost engagement, accessibility, knowledge retention, and real-world application.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in adult education, instructional design, organizational development, business, project management, or a related field, along with up to four years of progressive and relevant experience.

• A combination of education and experience may be taken into account.

• Comprehensive knowledge and practical experience with ADDIE, adult learning principles, needs assessment, measurable learning objectives, instructional and content design, facilitation, implementation planning, and best practices in learning evaluation.

• Experience in creating simulations, gamified learning experiences, microlearning, just-in-time solutions, job aids, infographics, videos, and animation/motion graphics.

• Advanced skills in project management and change management.

• Capability to manage multiple tasks and projects alongside leadership, subject matter experts, and stakeholders.

• Proficiency in developing reports and dashboards that integrate project indicators with learning metrics.

• Familiarity with RACI tables, RAID and decision logs, process maps, and weighted decision-making matrices.

• Strong skills in communication, facilitation, and collaboration.

• Experience collaborating with executives, vendors, subject matter experts, and stakeholders.

• Competency in Articulate 360, Camtasia, Audacity, SnagIt, learning management systems, Zoom, and Microsoft Office.

• Project management certification or equivalent credential is a plus.
