Insider Risk Management Specialist – Microsoft Purview

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Assist in the global operations and management of Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management and its associated processes.

• Continually enhance and streamline IRM policies and related processes, which include indicators, thresholds, escalation paths, and documentation.

• Uphold confidentiality measures and ensure the auditability of IRM-related activities and case information.

• Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Human Resources, IT Security, and various other business stakeholders.

• Monitor, assess, and document IRM alerts and cases.

• Work together with authorized teams on escalations.

• Assist in follow-up investigation workflows, including the collection of evidence and analysis of technical log files and other pertinent data sources.

• Generate regular metrics, reports, and status updates on alert trends, case volumes, process effectiveness, and areas for improvement.

• Lead testing, validation, change management, and user readiness for new or updated IRM policies, features, and operational procedures.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience with Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management, Microsoft 365 compliance solutions, or similar insider risk or data protection platforms.

• Knowledge of insider risk management concepts, including risk indicators, policy configuration, alert triage, case management, escalation workflows, and audit-ready documentation.

• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 workloads and signals, such as Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Entra ID, Microsoft Defender, and endpoint-related activities, as they pertain to insider risk scenarios.

• Strong grasp of privacy-by-design principles, proportionality, responsible investigation practices, and confidentiality controls (e.g., least privilege, role-based access controls).

• High discretion and sound judgment when dealing with sensitive employee-related issues and confidential case information.

• Capability to coordinate across global teams and manage multiple stakeholders in time-sensitive scenarios.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with an emphasis on documentation accuracy, process discipline, and the quality of work products.

• Strong ownership of assigned responsibilities, coupled with a proactive and self-directed work approach.

• Proficient in effective communication in both written and spoken English.

• Familiarity with eDiscovery or Digital Forensic processes is advantageous, particularly for issues that may need escalation to related IT Legal capabilities.
