Inpatient Coding Auditor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct inpatient coding audits and review services for client locations remotely from a home office.

• Collaborate with clients on coding audit and/or review services across various inpatient facility record types.

• Analyze trends from coding audit and review results and develop recommendations for corrective action plans.

• Perform research, including online inquiries and retrieving CMS transmittals and program memorandums, to support findings.

• Deliver in-service education to clients on recognized coding trends.

• Aid in designing and presenting educational seminars for clients and staff.

• Work alongside the HIM Consulting Division on advanced projects, including ICD-10 assessments and analyses, audit-process tools, staff education, applicant coding test materials, and coding-advice articles for clients.

⛳️ Requirements

• RHIA, RHIT, or CCS certification.

• Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in performing inpatient facility audits and reviews, in addition to prior coding experience.

• Proactive approach to researching in order to maintain a high level of knowledge and expertise.

• Ability to remain neutral and objective when finalizing and presenting audit findings.

• Willingness to take ownership of responsibilities and meet deadlines.

• Proficient computer skills, including the capability to use UASI audit software.

• Competence in securely transferring files in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.

• Confidence in communicating both on-site and through webinars/conference calls.
