Infrastructure Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Cyprus.

📋 Description

• Manage infrastructure deployment and change initiatives from initial intake through to handover, operations, and formal completion.

• Establish projects in Jira, decompose them into tasks, and create schedules that account for dependencies.

• Identify potential risks and dependencies during the kick-off phase and review plans with management for larger or less familiar projects.

• Monitor interlinked tasks across architecture, procurement, installation, repair, and replacement Jira projects.

• Make daily project decisions in line with the agreed-upon plan and escalate matters related to budget, priority, or departmental impacts as necessary.

• Develop cost estimates during the initiation phase utilizing NRC/MRC and component breakdowns.

• Navigate projects through approval processes and reconcile planned budgets against actual expenditures upon closure.

• Provide briefings to infrastructure architects and engage in discussions regarding bills of materials, rack layouts, power, and network design.

• Communicate with procurement and logistics teams, tracking purchasing, shipping, customs, warehousing, delivery ETAs, and purchase orders.

• Coordinate data-center installation schedules, timelines, execution quality, and address acceptance discrepancies.

• Facilitate the handover to Server Operations and Network Operations, ensuring documentation, configurations, monitoring onboarding, and acceptance testing are completed.

• Officially close projects, secure sign-off, and document lessons learned.

• Communicate risks, issues, scope alterations, timeline impacts, and budget implications to stakeholders.

• Operate within the team's Kanban system, tracking Lead Time, Throughput, WIP, aging tickets, and maintaining Jira status hygiene.

• Adhere to team processes, readiness checklists, and documentation standards while providing feedback on processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in project management within infrastructure, data centers, telecom, or IT operations.

• Ability to manage a standard project independently without detailed step-by-step support.

• Strong understanding of server and network hardware, as well as data center operations including racks, PDUs, power and cooling, basic network topology, switches, cross-connects, and IP addressing.

• Proficient in using Jira or a similar project tracking tool, including structuring projects, linking tasks across different projects, and maintaining accurate statuses and fields.

• Demonstrated reliability and ownership over projects, tasks, deadlines, and updates for stakeholders.

• Capacity to work with incomplete information and juggle multiple projects simultaneously.

• Proficient in English at a B2 level or higher, suitable for correspondence and conversations with international partners and vendors.

• Capability to compose documentation in English.

• Ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Experience with flow-based management methods (Kanban) and familiarity with metrics such as Lead Time, Throughput, and WIP.

• Background in managing multi-vendor or multi-partner projects.

• Experience in estimating infrastructure budgets, including NRC/MRC, colocation, and leased lines.

• Possession of a project management certification such as PMP or Kanban Management Professional.

• Experience collaborating within a distributed international team.
