Infrastructure Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Cyprus, +3 more countries.

📋 Description

• Lead infrastructure deployment and change initiatives independently from initiation to hand-over to operations and formal conclusion.

• Establish projects in Jira, decompose work into tasks, and create realistic timelines that account for dependencies.

• Identify critical paths and significant risks during the project kick-off.

• Coordinate interrelated tasks across architecture, procurement, on-site installation, repair/replacement, logistics, and operations teams.

• Make operational decisions within the authority of the project and escalate issues regarding budget, priorities, and interdepartmental conflicts.

• Estimate project expenditures by NRC / MRC and components, facilitate approvals, and reconcile planned versus actual budgets upon closure.

• Provide briefings to Infrastructure Architects and engage in discussions concerning bill of materials, rack layout, power, and network.

• Communicate with Procurement and Logistics teams, monitor requests, purchase orders, deliveries, ETAs, and associated risks.

• Define vendor and contractor responsibilities using a RACI matrix.

• Organize data-center installation schedules, timelines, quality control, and acceptance discrepancies.

• Conduct hand-overs to Server Operations and Network Operations, encompassing documentation, configurations, monitoring onboarding, and acceptance testing.

• Manage risks, stakeholders, and changes in scope; evaluate impacts on timelines and budgets, documenting changes in Jira.

• Maintain Jira status hygiene and report Kanban flow metrics, including Customer Lead Time, System Lead Time, P85, and Aging WIP.

• Enhance IPM processes and templates, including RACI, readiness checklists, documentation standards, and status criteria.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in project management within infrastructure, data centers, telecom, or IT operations.

• Ability to manage a project independently without detailed step-by-step guidance is a strict requirement.

• Strong understanding of server and network hardware, including knowledge of data center operations: racks, PDUs, power and cooling, and basic network topology (switches, cross-connects, IP addressing).

• Experience with Jira or a similar project tracking tool at the project-administration level, including linking tasks across projects and utilizing workflows and fields.

• A high level of personal ownership and autonomy.

• Capability to navigate ambiguity and manage multiple projects concurrently.

• Proficiency in English at a B2 level or higher, adequate for correspondence and negotiations with international partners and vendors.

• Documentation skills in English.

• Excellent communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Familiarity with flow-based management (Kanban) and metrics such as Lead Time, Throughput, and WIP is advantageous.

• Experience in multi-vendor / multi-partner projects utilizing a formal RACI is a plus.

• Background in budget estimation for infrastructure projects (NRC / MRC, colocation, leased lines) is desirable.

• Project management certification (PMP, Kanban Management Professional, or similar) is a plus.

• Experience working in a distributed international team is a plus.
