Infrastructure Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Execute engineering tasks related to infrastructure technologies for cloud-based data and AI platforms.

• Ensure that project outcomes align with customer objectives while considering a well-planned total cost of ownership.

• Design and sustain Infrastructure-as-Code patterns, CI/CD pipelines, and self-service functionalities across AWS cloud environments.

• Support the delivery of secure, scalable, and resilient data platform services.

• Oversee, manage, and deploy technology infrastructure for various functions or investment initiatives.

• Collaborate with architecture teams to convert approved designs into secure, scalable, and reusable cloud platform solutions.

• Review deployment documentation for departmental infrastructure elements.

• Provide foundational builds for development environments and transition them to application and development teams.

• Establish user acceptance testing environments and oversee departmental infrastructure updates during system migrations.

• Develop technical test plans, document results, and involve application and development teams in the testing process.

• Formulate technical implementation plans and runbooks for system deliveries.

• Collaborate across feature teams to endorse engineering standards, reusable patterns, and Platform-as-a-Product principles.

• Work together with various departments within the bank to broaden networks and showcase engineering efforts.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong comprehension of infrastructure engineering and the creation of resilient, cost-effective platforms.

• Proven experience in building and managing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions using tools like Terraform.

• Familiarity with cloud-native CI/CD platforms.

• Practical knowledge of AWS services, including Amazon S3, AWS Glue, Lake Formation, and SageMaker Unified Studio.

• Understanding of data governance, security, and access management in cloud environments.

• Comprehensive knowledge of infrastructure layers or stacks, with expertise across various platforms such as mainframe, middleware, and networks, or a deeper specialization.

• Awareness of the strategic roadmap within the area of expertise.

• Capability to collaborate with design authorities to implement cost-effective and resilient solutions.

• Extensive experience in contributing to roadmaps and strategic initiatives.

• Proficient in working closely with third parties, ensuring quality output and performance management.

• Experience in implementing secure, reusable, and self-service platform capabilities within cloud environments.

• Knowledge of emerging data and AI services, such as Amazon Bedrock and SageMaker, and their integration within secure and governed enterprise platforms.

• Strong collaboration and influencing abilities.
