Infrastructure & Energy Research Specialist – Public Sector

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead or assist in conducting research studies related to infrastructure and energy, encompassing feasibility assessments, demand evaluations, pipeline analyses, resilience considerations, and workforce implications.

• Compile and harmonize technical, economic, and policy information into reports that are ready for decision-making.

• Collaborate with economists, GIS analysts, and industry operators when project scopes necessitate multi-disciplinary teams.

• Provide support for AlphaGov proposals by accurately framing sectors and crafting narratives featuring named experts, when authorized.

• Identify instances where a solicitation mandates PE/licensed professionals and assist in structuring compliant teams.

• Prefer a subcontractor or partner approach for large-scale capital projects until AlphaGov establishes comparable corporate past performance.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in infrastructure, energy, utility, transit, or resilience research and analysis (consulting, agency, or research organization).

• At least two completed studies in the public or quasi-public sector that you can reference (including client/agency, your role, and year).

• Exceptional writing skills and the ability to convey technical findings to audiences without engineering backgrounds.

• Openness to being named in proposals when your expertise is relevant and permission has been granted.

• Possession of a PE, CEM, AICP, GISP, or similar credential (when licenses are required) — this is a preferred qualification.

• Experience with GIS or spatial analysis for pipeline or resilience studies — this is a preferred qualification.

• Familiarity with clean energy, grid, water, or transit workforce studies — this is a preferred qualification.

• Experience with federal or state energy offices or utility commissions — this is a preferred qualification.
